Writing from the Heart: How My Stories Come to Life

Writing has been my passion since I was 12, and over the years, I’ve developed my own unique process to craft the stories you read today. It’s a blend of creativity, intuition, and personal connection that shapes my plotlines and characters.

Most of my stories begin with dreams or flashes of inspiration sparked by real-life experiences. Sometimes, they’re built from fragments of memories, especially ones tied to topics that carry emotional weight or triggers for me. This means I feel deeply connected to my characters and their journeys—I vividly experience their struggles, fears, and triumphs as if they were my own.

Because of this connection, my stories often seem to "write themselves." I let the inspiration flow freely for about 60% of the plot. I’ve heard this isn’t the most structured way to write, but for me, it works. When the creative rush subsides, I go back and reread everything I’ve written. This is when the editing begins. I cut and reshape scenes that initially made sense but later disrupted the plot’s coherence.

Once I’ve reworked what’s already on the page, I continue writing, refining as I go. I’ll go through this cycle one or two more times to ensure the story feels solid and flows naturally for the reader. Finally, I do a thorough proofread and turn to my trusted beta readers for fresh perspectives.

From start to finish, this process typically takes me about 10 months. It’s not a rushed or overwhelming journey. I don’t write pages and pages every day—I balance my writing with a full-time job and other responsibilities. Instead, I’ve embraced a gentle routine where I add a few paragraphs at a time.

If you’re just starting out or struggling with writer’s block, my advice is to take it easy. Find a rhythm that works for you and doesn’t feel suffocating. It’s okay to skip scenes you’re not ready to write yet—I do this all the time! When I go back to reread earlier chapters, the missing pieces often fall into place naturally.

For anyone looking for guidance in their writing journey, I also offer coaching and ghostwriting services. Whether you need help structuring your story or turning an idea into a full manuscript, I’d be thrilled to work with you. You can contact me through my website:
